FEB 14th | Middle School Students Come Through in Collecting Hygiene Products for Homeless Families

The 4th-8th grade students collected 8 large boxes of hygiene products including toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap and more. The boys and girls in the middle school were reminded of how blessed we are to have hygiene products available to us as. The products collected were donated to The Cathedral Center, located adjacent to St. John's Cathedral, a shelter that caters specifically to children and families throughout the city who are in need.

FEB 8th | Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week (January 30th-February 3rd) students in grades K4-3rd collected 2,283 items of food for the St. Anthony food pantry! Service projects like this increase the faith, encourage supporting others, and help connect our students with their community. Below you can see just one day of the food drive collection with a few of our K5 scholars!

St. Anthony School Campus Ministry

SAHS’ Campus Ministry Group had their first service project of the year. While I expected a modest turn out, I was shocked and amazed that when it was all said and done, we had 30 kids show up at St. Vincent DePaul to serve beverages and food at their soup kitchen. I could not be more proud of our kids who acted kind, compassionate, enthusiastic, and friendly to all those they served last evening. We have only been organized and running for one month, and it was therefore especially encouraging to see such a large turnout for group still in its infancy.

I would like to thank Father Cliff who has helped me run and organize the Campus Ministry Group. I would also like to thank Mr. T and Mr. Lundin who took time out of their schedules to show up and interact with our kids and our organization. Without the dedication of our staff, the kids would not feel the need to give back to their community.

Lastly a thanks goes out to the following students: Maria P., Brandon F., Mayra A, Eduardo D, Luc M, Adrianna A, Maria F, Viviana G, Juan M, Stephanie V, Lizbeth J, Govanna M, Ariana G, Arturo A, Stephanie Q, Nancy V, Sinai M, Judith A, Brillit H, Erica E, Fabiola C, Karla C, Gaby C, Diana A, Gabi M, Jenny S, Mari S, Itzel G, Silvia, and Estefanny A. I will attach a picture so you can see the group at the end of the night. There are more pictures that will hopefully be included in the yearbook.

If you have any questions about the group or our projects, please feel free to email me. Again, it was great to see SAHS at its best last night.

St. Anthony School in the News

From the Council for American Private Education, Saint Anthony School is mentioned in an article on school choice and the recent elections. I have attached the full document and copied the relevant paragraph below.

Congratulations on all your hard work.

Republican Ron Johnson defeated incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold for the Senate seat from Wisconsin. In an interview with the Journal Sentinel editorial board October 13, Johnson recalled a recent visit to St. Anthony School in Milwaukee, a center of the city’s Hispanic community. He described the school, which participates in the state’s voucher program, as “a phenomenal learning environment,” and said the state should expand the school choice program “because getting the economy growing and providing a first-class education to students is just critical.”

Pat Mcilheran Mentions St. Anthony Schools

St. Anthony School of Milwaukee is gaining recognition from all types including Pat Mcilheran from the Milwaukee journal Sentinel who briefly mentions St. Anthony Schools in contradiction to MPS and it's reading programs.
